Something people
can turn up to.

Mappening is for local events, live music and pop-ups. Real places, clear times and enough detail to make a plan.

Give people the useful bits.

Tell them what’s happening, who is organising it, the full venue address and an accurate map pin, when it starts and ends, and whether entry costs money or needs booking. A venue or organiser website helps us review your first listing.

Keep it local and specific.

A one-off shop opening, an acoustic night or a weekend food stall belongs here. General adverts, online-only events, invented listings and duplicate pins across different areas don’t.

Nothing harmful, ever.

No hate, harassment, threats, sexual content, scams, or anything illegal or unsafe, in a listing or the organiser name behind it. There’s no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive organisers: we remove listings that break these rules and stop accounts that post them from posting again. Everyone agrees to these guidelines in the app before their first post.

Your first event gets a look.

It stays private while an admin reviews it. After approval, future events can go live directly, unless something needs another look. Organisers normally have up to three active events, with one pending submission at a time before their first approval.

Help us keep it useful.

Report events that don’t exist, misleading details, spam or unsafe content in the iPhone app. An admin reviews reports; a report alone doesn’t remove an event. To stop seeing an organiser’s events, open one and choose Hide this organiser from its menu. You can show them again from Account.
